May 23, 2020Born in Charlottetown, PE on February 13, 1936, Fr. Frank was ordained a priest in 1961 for the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. After completing his canon law studies at the Saint Paul University he joined the faculty as a professor. He was a founding member of the Canadian Canon Law Society. Fr. Frank was well known throughout the Church, being called on often to speak about Canon Law and related topics. He also took part in the preparations for the 1983 Code of Canon Law, served as a consulter to many, and even in recent times was still taking trips to Rome for work. He probably remembered your name no matter when or where he met you. And he knew when and where he met you too.
Described as a faithful son of Saint Eugene De Mazenod by Msgr. Renken of the University of Saint Paul and as a man of great empathy and compassion by Ken Thorson, O.M.I., he will be missed by the members of our society. We offer our prayers for him, for his family and friends, and for the Oblate community.

Né à Charlottetown, PE le 13 février 1936, le Père Frank fut ordonné prêtre en 1961 pour la Congrégation des missionnaires Oblats de Marie Immaculé. Après avoir terminé ses études en droit canonique à l'Université Saint Paul, il rejoignit la faculté comme professeur. Il fut un membre fondateur de la Société canadienne de droit canonique. Le Père Frank était bien connu à travers l'Église, car il fut souvent invité à donner des conférences sur le droit canonique et sur les sujets connexes. Il prît part à la préparation du Code de 1983, servit comme consulteur pour beaucoup, et même récemment il voyageait encore à Rome pour y travailler. Il se rappelait certainement votre nom, peu importe quand et où il vous avait rencontré. Et il savait aussi quand et où il vous avait rencontré.
Décrit comme un fidèle fils de Saint Eugène de Manzenod par Monseigneur Renken de l'Université Saint Paul et comme un homme d'une grande empathie et compassion par Ken Thorson, O.M.I, il va manquer aux membres de notre société. Nous prions pour lui, pour sa famille et ses amis, et pour la communauté des Oblats.
