On behalf of the Executive and the Members of the Canadian Canon Law Society, I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone involved in the making 56th annual convention a great success! This was the first time members of the Society gathered in person in since 2019. Everyone appreciated being able to see friends and colleagues once again.
A word of thanks to the Program Committee who put together a convention program of the highest caliber. The feedback from those who attended this year’s convention was very positive.
The Local Planning Committee’s contribution was greatly appreciated. Their organizational skills and attention to detail made the convention seem flawless.
In addition, I wish to thank you the members of the ad hoc Committee for the Revision of the Bylaws. The hard work and dedication that they demonstrated bore fruit in the proposed draft of the bylaws. The members in attendance at the AGM unanimously adopted the proposed bylaws. This speaks to the strength of the new bylaws and the unity among the members supporting it.
The Executive Board looks forward to implementing the new bylaws.
A special congratulations to Msgr. Roch Pagé who was voted as an honorary Member of the Canadian Canon Law Society. His many years of hard work and dedication in service of the Church has garnered the respect of friends and colleagues alike.
I would like to invite our members to Edmonton, October 16th to 19th, 2023 when the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton will host us. Bishop David Motiuk promises Eastern Hospitality albeit in the West!
Sincerely,
Michael Fahlman
President
